The Lake Superior Chess Association is the primary governing chess body for the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We are a small but dedicated group that trudges through snow and other interesting weather patterns to compete in rated and unrated chess tournaments! Our main tournament (U.P. Open) is held every 3rd week of August. This tournament is open to any player, but the top resident scorer wins the U.P. championship title and trophy. Our tournaments are small, but known to be quite friendly throughout the chess world.
